PODCAST EP 3: Basic Income and an Automated Future

 

Basic Income is an idea that has been floating around for a while now. It’s kind of a controversial political idea that has similarities to some welfare programs. But what makes Basic Income different is that every adult citizen would be given a salary of $35,000.00 with no restrictions. Just load everyone up with this yearly amount and see what develops. Recipients can work and earn on top of this award, or they can try to live off of this amount alone.

This idea is getting some traction as people are theorizing that we are destined for a future run by computers and job-taking robots… thus the need for this basic income system.
